The Moor Models Story

Once upon a time, a long time ago, in leafy Hertfordshire, there was a keen aeromodeller called Alan Sadler. When not building, flying, crashing and rebuilding his Gangster and Grummond Wildcat on Croxley Moor, he was gainfully employed by Thames Water as a Drainage Engineer. Alan had always enjoyed his chosen profession but felt that he and his job were slowly being crushed by the juggernaut of bureaucracy. Fortunately, an escape route appeared in the shape of an empty shop next to Croxley Station, and on the auspicious date of 1 April 1993 Moor Models was born.

Since that time the shop has been a haven and source of inspiration for modellers of all descriptions. Being situated such a short distance from Croxley Moor it acts as the A&E department for mid-air and deadstick casualties, and there is always a huge stock of the latest kits plus helicopters and cars and a huge range of spares.

A few years later Moor Models extended into Essex and took over CB Models situated at Parndon Mill, Harlow. As at Croxley, the Tardis-like shop is very well stocked and is able to meet the needs of a wide range of modellers - from the novice to the very experienced. At both shops we are pleased to provide a wide range of kits, magazines, fuel and spares and there is usually plenty of expert advice available, as well as cups of tea!
